2022 Joyful Independent Food Bank
An new Non-referral food bank started with MJ and Angela in the centre of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. This food bank helped anyone walking in, irrespective of background or circumstance. There was a massive demand with over 100 food bags going out on busy days. We provided tonnes of fun items, chocolate bars, kids cereals as well as essentials like pasta, canned meats, etc to help them keep up with demand.
2021 UK Prison Ministry during COVID
During the COVID 19 pandemic, prisoners were hit particularly hard and at one stage, no visitors were allowed and prisoners faced 23 hours a day in isolation. To help bring a little hope, we partnered with Ken Mainey and distributed his book and CD called “Jesus Loves Prisoners”. We send out over 5000 books and 2000 CDs to 150 UK prisons.
2018 Teams4U Shoebox Appeal
Shoebox giving began in 1990 with Dave Cooke in Wrexham. And every year Dave with Teams4U send over 50000 shoebox gifts to families around the world. We started helping in 2018 by making empty gift boxes available in schools, churches, supermarkets and collecting them in. This made it easier for people to donate with Staffordshire giving an extra lorry load of boxes each year.
2013 3000 Gift boxes for Zimbabwe
With loads of goodies bought from Ebay, we set about assembling 3000 shoebox sized Christmas gifts in a garage in Stoke-on-Trent. It took about 2 months end to end. When the boxes were done, we delivered them to the Operation Christmas Child depot in Liverpool, where they were checked and onward delivered to Zimbabwe for distribution in Harare.
2010 Signal Radio
It all begins with an idea. In 2010, we partnered with Signal Radio in Staffordshire to increase awareness of the Operation Christmas Child shoebox appeal. The number of Gift filled boxes donated went from 3000 to over 10000 thanks to the kindness of the people of Staffordshire. Samaritans Purse then distributed these gift boxes to children all round the world.
